Cauliflower Magic

Cauliflower is a wonderful vegetable. It is mildly flavored and has less calories. It is an ultra healthy veggie that contains no fat and is good for the heart, brain, liver, kidneys and our entire immune system.

It's relatively inexpensive to buy and is readily available in the local markets. You can pick up a fresh cauliflower, remove the green leaves from the sides, and steam it whole or in large pieces inside your Bamboo Steamer.

In our home, we usually steam it, then dice the steamed cauliflower and add it to a hot bowl of clear soup. We make the soup out of Kanji water, adding in some chopped onions, garlic, ginger, pepper corns, green chilies and coriander leaves. Sometimes we add in pasta or noodles and few other vegetables to make the soup more wholesome and tasty.

Just now I read the post on 20 benefits of using cauliflower.We cook at home regularly with potato and green peas and when we have to eat vegetarian Chinese food we prefer cauliflower Manchuria.Sir after joining here we have learnt many uses of vegetables I just knew 2-3 benefits and not so many.Thank you for every article that is posted here and we really love reading and sharing them.

Cauliflower, indeed it's my favorite vegetable too. But due to rumors spread around, that cauliflowers are completely dipped in a source of chemicals, prevents me from getting one. People say, go for organic stuff. But still, are these organic stuffs are real.

That's why you should steam or boil it, Gomathi, since doing so makes the harmful chemicals, etc. evaporate into the air.

Gomathi soak in hot water and salt for 5-10 minutes,it helps to remove chemicals sprayed and the insects .Clean it and then use.

Cauliflower with potatoes and peas is my husbands favourite vegetable. I also like it but because i am suffering from Hypothyroidism i am allowed to eat it only once a week. I also love it steamed and the soup recipe shared in this post is something i would love to try.
