Non Resident Indians

It's common for Indians who go abroad to suddenly (and magically) love everything connected with the Indian culture. They start loving Indian food so much, love watching Bollywood movies when they never would bother watching those movies when they lived back home in India, they want to celebrate every single Indian festival in a grand way abroad (including our Republic Day and Independence Day), listening to Indian music becomes the trendiest thing to do when they would only listen to American music when they lived here in India, they also keep track of all the results and LIVE scores from the IPL and any Cricket tournaments where India is playing.

Yes, it all started with a regret and it suddenly begins when we start thinking that the grass is greener on the other side. Never is, never will be. It's just that we alter our perceptions to make believe that whatever decisions we make are actually the right ones (even though sometimes they aren't). This is exactly what spiritual gurus, life coaches and motivational speakers use to manipulate us and change our thinking to whatever they want us to believe.

Yes Sir, it's always greener on the other side. But people always fail to realize the treasure hidden in the same side. Through out life we have been comparing ourselves with others, we haven't allotted time to nurture our own self, & hence the problem of NRI's. Good or bad, living in a mother country is a great privilege.....but let us not forget..."while in a Rome,be a Roman".

The other day my friend who is a designer was telling me that all her clients are abroad and the way they celebrate each and every festival is something even we don't do while staying in our own country. Whatever it is whether regret or something else i like the idea that they are keeping their Indian tradition culture alive in what ever way they can.

Perfectly said Savio Sir. Every Indian, who leaves abroad with lot of visions and happiness, really feels inside their heart a longing to come to India and spend some time. They really regret missing the good lives they lived when they were young. They long for the old times. The culture, the unity, the love and affection, the food habits, the weather, we have lot of people to help us around here. Even the house maids help here. But abroad, they have to do each little work by themself including cleaning the bathrooms and toilets.
