The Little Guide To Transcendental Meditation

The Little Guide To Transcendental Meditation
Transcendental Meditation was first discovered in India in 1950s by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. One can say that Transcendental Meditation is a kind of Meditation or it is a very simple but highly effective technique of Yoga.

When Maharishi Mahesh Yogi discovered Transcendental Meditation in 1955, he termed it as a Science of Creative Intelligence (SCI).

'Transcendental' as the word suggests this meditation also does the same to us when we do it.

TM can be practiced twice a day daily and about 20 minutes each session.

The technique to do the meditation is simply sit on the carpet or in a chair as comfortably as you want and close your eyes and surpass all the external thoughts.

Just go deeper into your soul and forget all about your surroundings. You may also learn the same by qualified teachers of the TM program at Maharishi Medical Centers and also there are Nonprofit organizations which help people learn it.

This technique has no side effects on our body or brain but has numerous benefits. If we try to count the benefits of TM then lets start from the fact that we do not need any equipment or special area to practice it (no cream, no lotion, no machine and no trainer, etc.).

We do not need to spend any money to practice and also the flexibility of our body is not important. By far its the Most Natural, easy, simplest and cheapest way to achieve so many benefits.

Daily or regular practice of TM helps us release stress, achieves calmness, provides deep rest to our brain and body, develops consciousness, brings maturity, refreshes and energizes our body, etc.

An individual can get enlightened in several ways through daily practice of TM.

The areas of benefits could be noted as...

1. Mental benefits

2. In anxiety and depression

3. Stress

4. Health benefits

5. Physical energy and freshness

6. Aging

7. Relationships

8. Benefits for children and teenagers

9. Personal development

10. Complete relaxation

When Maharishi Yogi realized the power and simplicity of this Mediation, he strongly believed that the technique should reach out to each and every human being and the awareness should spread across the world.

Thus Maharishi initiated the world tour and in no time the technique enjoyed millions of practitioners or the believers.

The first organization of the Transcendental Meditation movement was the Spiritual Regeneration Movement, founded in India in 1958. In 1959 the technique reached United States.

Initially there were many disbelievers as well who opposed the technique and its Health benefits. Still there are researches conducted on the TM technique and its benefits.

TM is one of the most researched meditation techniques and also one of the most practiced today. The bodies conducting the researches also include UCLA, Stanford and Harvard University which started in the early 1970.

The believers of Transcendental Meditation denied it being a religion. They believe it is a Spiritual approach and a philosophy not a religion.

TM techniques are not only practiced by ordinary people but also by big celebrities. Several Global celebrities have learned the technique and practice it daily. To name some of them would be - The Beatles, Russell Brand, Jerry Seinfeld, Oprah Winfrey and many more.

There are many advanced forms and modified techniques also introduced of TM but the original technique is one of the most practiced and effective too.
