Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay Lyrics

Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay Lyrics
After a long hard day at work, I sat down on my computer to check my mail and keep in touch with what’s going on.

The mixer buzzed on with pulp swirling around, and the teapot whistled the song of relief, after all the buzzing of activity of body and brain.

Tuned on the music station on the internet, and the Radio Jockey came live.

From his playlist, he pulled up a song by Otis Redding ( I’d never heard of him) and he played the song “Sitting on the Dock of the Bay”.

The song played, and I poured a cup of tea for myself.

As the song played, it started to slowly sink in my mind. Otis Redding - a person I never knew spoke to me like as if he knew me.

The lyrics of the song talk about sitting in the morning sun and wasting time.

This is something I do when the pressures and frustrations of life get me down, when I give my best and all my efforts are in vain. Sit on the dock of the bay.

The Lyrics “I can’t do what ten people tell me" is something that strikes a chord because when you work and some across odd characters who don’t understand how you work, it’s a concern for me.

“So I guess I’ll remain the same” as that is what I am as a person and though I adjust, I won’t change.

I’ll fight to be myself, but when the lights start to dim, I’ll sit on the dock of the bay.

I'm sharing the lyrics to his song for all the music lovers on Osovo.

Here it is...

Sittin' in the morning sun
I'll be sittin' when the evening come
Watching the ships roll in
And then I watch 'em roll away again, yeah.

I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay.
Wasting time.

I left my home in Georgia
Headed for the 'Frisco bay
Cause I've had nothing to live for
And look like nothin's gonna come my way.

So I'm just gonna sit on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wasting time.

Look like nothing's gonna change
Everything still remains the same
I can't do what ten people tell me to do
So I guess I'll remain the same, yes.

Sitting here resting my bones
And this loneliness won't leave me alone
It's two thousand miles I roamed
Just to make this dock my home.

Now, I'm just gonna sit at the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Oooo-wee, sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wasting time.
