The Power Of Little Changes

The Power Of Little Changes
It's amazing how the smallest of changes can help make a huge difference over a period of time.

I have been keeping a close eye on my daily schedule over the past 6 years and realized that I was spending a bit too much time on surfing news websites and informational blogs each day.

As much as an hour of my daily time gets spent on browsing news websites and some blogs that I have bookmarked on my internet browser.

During the earlier years, this one hour didn't matter much since it was important for me to keep abreast with the latest news stories from around the world.

Being a motivational trainer, I needed to know about some of the major happenings globally.

So it made sense to stay updated on breaking news and informational blogs that were connected to my courses.

However, I voluntarily retired from my motivational training career in 2011 and decided to spend a lot more time at home being a 'stay at home' dad.

I started spending a bit more time on my blogging career, online courses and counseling services from late November that year.

But I still kept spending an hour a day on staying updated on the world news.

In late January of this year I decided that I would spend just 15 minutes a day on staying updated on news stories.

It was a little change that I made but the 45 minutes that got freed up made a titanic difference to my daily life.

Firstly, I have become much more productive during the last two months.

I spend more time on blogging and online training and don't waste any extra time on discussing the news with anyone at home.

Not discussing the world news inside our living room during the past 9 months has helped my little family spend much more time on talking about ourselves thereby improving the overall quality of our relationships with each other.

Secondly, I also found myself feeling a lot more positive during the last 9 months since earlier the amount of negativity being portrayed in the media left me feeling a bit negative myself.

Thirdly, I have been a lot more relaxed during the day since there is nothing that actually worries me these days.

Not being updated on sad and depressing news stories has definitely improved my quality of life to a great extent.

This is how a little change in my daily schedule made a gigantic difference in my life.

There are several other examples of how I have improved my lifestyle by adopting or implementing little changes in my schedule.

The best part about making little changes is that it's always easy to put these changes into action quickly.

It's tough making big changes but it's easy to make a tiny change.

Now it's time for you to check if you can make a little change to your life to bring in positive differences in the near future.
